About offday.asia

Your Southeast Asia Off Day Planner

What is offday.asia?

offday.asia is a free public holiday information website covering the major Southeast Asian nations โ€” Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. We make it easy to find upcoming holidays, spot long weekends, and plan your time off and travel. Whether you're a professional trying to maximise your annual leave or a traveller planning a trip around a regional festival, offday.asia gives you the information you need in one place.

We cover official public holidays for all four countries, with clear indicators for long weekends (3-day breaks), substitute holidays (when a holiday falls on a Sunday), and state-specific variations (particularly important for Malaysia). All dates are sourced from official government publications and updated as soon as new gazettes are released.

Why We Built This

Southeast Asia is one of the most culturally diverse regions on earth. Within a few hours' flight of each other, you'll find countries with Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, and civic public holidays โ€” each with their own rules about substitute days, state variations, and moon-sighting-based dates. Keeping track of all of this across borders is genuinely hard.

We built offday.asia because we wanted a single, clean reference for the entire region. No more hunting through multiple government websites in different languages. No more missing a long weekend because you forgot Vesak Day fell on a Sunday this year. Just clear, accurate, up-to-date holiday information for everyone in the region.

What We Cover

Data Sources & Accuracy

Our holiday data is sourced directly from official government publications:

Islamic holiday dates (Hari Raya Puasa / Eid al-Fitr and Hari Raya Haji / Eid al-Adha) are based on official government announcements following moon sighting. These dates may vary by ยฑ1 day and sometimes differ between countries. We note these as "confirmed" once the official gazette is published and "tentative" for future years.

For years beyond the current official gazette (typically 2 years ahead), we publish estimated dates clearly marked as tentative. We update these as official announcements are made.
